Dear Minnesotans,
I want to share a sharp, thought-provoking monologue from Bill Maher (@billmaher) that hits the mark for many in our state—especially those in Minnesota’s academic circles. Our once-proud education community, known for its commitment to fostering lifelong learners and uplifting everyone, has lost its way. Today, it’s too often overrun by shallow virtue-signaling, grifters, and ideological zealots who offer little hope for advancing humanity.
But we can reclaim Minnesota’s educational legacy. We can restore a system rooted in real goals—equipping individuals to overcome challenges and excel in their chosen craft, skill, or art. Let’s return to an education that inspires and empowers, not one that panders or divides.
Respectfully,
Phillip C. Parrish
Candidate for Governor of Minnesota, 2026
