Dear Minnesotans,
The Gloria opens with “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will” for a profound reason. It’s a call to honor the divine and pursue peace—but it also points us toward a necessary action: rejecting those of ill will in the name of Jesus.
Jesus called us to move forward without fear. So, do not falter before the intellectually dishonest or morally wayward, whose sharp tongues wield deceit and scorn. Deny them your attention and energy. Instead, cast them out of your mind and heart with resolve.
Have you noticed a pattern? The loudest voices spreading hate and falsehoods rarely belong to the poor, the homeless, or the genuinely vulnerable. More often, they come from idle bureaucrats and the morally hollow—those unburdened by real struggle, whose only dread is that their comfortable, fragile lives, propped up by others’ labor, might one day demand effort and accountability.
True peace is not merely the absence of conflict. When those of ill will wield violence, threats, gaslighting, or abuse to perpetuate exploitation, that conflict must be met and rejected. Holding them accountable can be an act of grace and mercy, but allowing their behavior to persist offends the very spirit of God’s call to justice.
Respectfully,
Phillip C. Parrish
Candidate for Governor of Minnesota, 2026
