Statement from Phillip C. Parrish, Candidate for Governor of Minnesota 2026
Fellow Minnesotans,
As a retired U.S. Navy Lieutenant Commander with over two decades of service in intelligence and security, I’ve learned that true victory comes not from short-term skirmishes but from strategic patience and unyielding principle. Today, I see this playing out on the national stage with President Donald Trump’s handling of the Senate nominees standoff—a masterful display of foresight that is poised to deliver a resounding win for America First policies.
In this high-stakes chess game, Democrats and deep state holdovers have once again revealed their predictable playbook: slow-walking over 130 critical nominations, demanding billions in wasteful spending on globalist programs as “ransom” for confirmations, and relying on pro forma sessions to block recess appointments. But their obstructionism is backfiring spectacularly. By rejecting this extortion and standing firm, President Trump has exposed the hypocrisy of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and his allies, who prioritize foreign aid and bureaucratic bloat over the will of the American people. This impasse, set to resolve when the Senate reconvenes on September 2, 2025, will likely culminate in Republican-led rules changes—shortening debate times and enabling batch approvals—that empower Trump to assemble his team without concessions. It’s a big win on the horizon, one that drains the swamp and restores efficient governance, all while highlighting Democratic gamesmanship for what it is: sore-loser tactics aimed at undermining a duly elected president.
I commend President Trump for his unwavering resolve, Senate Majority Leader John Thune for navigating the weekend session to secure key confirmations like Jeanine Pirro’s, Senator Mike Lee for calling out the dangers of unchecked bureaucrats, and Senator Markwayne Mullin for pledging to overpower these delays long-term. These leaders exemplify the principled focus we need in government—staying true to conservative values amid pressure, refusing to compromise on fiscal responsibility, and prioritizing America’s interests above all.
To all citizens of Minnesota and beyond: It’s time to tune out the propaganda and lies peddled by legacy media outlets like CNN and MSNBC, whose biased framing of Trump’s principled stand as “chaos” only exposes them as Democratic mouthpieces. Their plummeting viewership tells the story—they’re losing credibility as the public awakens to the truth.
And to my fellow conservatives: Don’t get baited by the falsehoods or distractions. See through the Democrat games—their feigned “scrutiny” is just a veil for obstruction. Stay hopeful, remain focused on our shared goals of secure borders, economic strength, and honest leadership. Together, we’ll turn this clarity into action, from Washington to St. Paul, building a brighter future free from fraud and deceit.
Let’s reclaim Minnesota in 2026 with the same determination. Join me at parrish4mn.com to get involved.
