Minnesota’s Betrayal: The Full Scope of Immigration Fraud and How It’s Destroying Our State

Minnesotans, we have been lied to on a scale that defies belief.

For decades, we were told that mass refugee resettlement—especially of Somali and East African migrants—was an act of compassion. “Minnesota Nice” demanded it. Our churches, nonprofits, and state agencies opened their arms, and we opened our wallets. But Operation Twin Shield, the federal crackdown by USCIS, ICE, and the FBI, has exposed the ugly truth: this was never about compassion. It was a premeditated, multi-billion-dollar grift that exploited our goodwill, destabilized our communities, and enriched a network of enablers at the highest levels.

And what they found in just 1,000 cases in the Twin Cities is only the beginning.

The Numbers Don’t Lie — They Scream

In the Twin Cities—home to 78% of Minnesota’s estimated 80,000 Somali residents—federal investigators uncovered 275 confirmed cases of immigration fraud: sham marriages for green cards, fake death certificates from Kenya, elder abuse of U.S. citizen spouses, visa overstays, and forged documents. That’s a 44–50% fraud rate in the sample alone, according to USCIS Director Joseph Edlow. And Edlow didn’t mince words: the Biden administration knew about these schemes but paralyzed enforcement to push mass parole programs.

Now do the math.

If 44–50% fraud holds across just the 62,000 Somalis in the Twin Cities, that’s 27,000–31,000 fraudulent cases in one metro. Scale it statewide—add St. Cloud with 4,400 Somalis, Rochester with 3,400, Faribault with 2,400, Willmar with 1,200, and 15+ other cities where the same NGOs operated unchecked—and the true number of fraud cases likely exceeds 40,000.

This isn’t a glitch. This is organized crime with a humanitarian mask.

The Grift: Over $1 Billion Stolen from Minnesotans

The immigration fraud was just the entry point. Once in, the same networks weaponized federal and state programs:

Feeding Our Future: $250 million stolen through fake meal sites, ghost children, luxury cars, and overseas wire transfers.

Housing Stabilization Fraud: $280 million siphoned from COVID emergency funds into personal gain.

Daycare Scams: Tens of millions bilked by claiming over 1,000 phantom children for subsidies.

Autism Billing Fraud: Over $50 million in inflated Medicaid diagnoses and overbilling.

Real Estate Flips: More than $100 million from grant-bought homes flipped for profit.

Total known theft: Over $1 billion since 2016.

And that doesn’t include the $500 million+ per year in ongoing welfare, Medicaid, and housing subsidies—90%+ of Somali households remain welfare-dependent, per state data.

Meanwhile, Minnesota’s state debt has ballooned to $18 billion, property taxes are up 20% in a decade, and our schools are collapsing under the weight of 15%+ non-English speakers (ESL costs up 300% since 2010).

The Human Cost: Our Children, Our Families, Our Future

This isn’t just about money. It’s about destruction:

Our kids are harassed, bullied, and left behind in overcrowded, failing schools.

Our neighborhoods are hollowed out—Minneapolis saw 25% white flight after the 2020 riots. Cedar-Riverside is now “Little Mogadishu,” plagued by stabbings, gang violence, and al-Shabaab sympathizers.

Our veterans and working families are buried in debt while billions flow to non-citizens.

Sick social agendas—gender clinics pushing transitions on migrant minors for federal dollars, family separation normalized under “cultural sensitivity”—are forced on us under the banner of “equity.”

This isn’t integration.

This is demographic engineering—concentrating 80,000 unvetted arrivals into one congressional district to guarantee Ilhan Omar’s election, while Gov. Tim Walz vetoed border security and expanded the pipeline.

The Enablers Must Pay

This didn’t happen by accident. It was enabled:

Lutheran Social Service (LSS): $100M+ per year in federal grants, rubber-stamped thousands of arrivals.

International Rescue Committee (IRC): $32M from George Soros’s Open Society since 2016.

Catholic Charities, Arrive Ministries, state DHS—all part of the machine.

Politicians like Walz and Omar—who ignored warnings, silenced critics, and cashed the political rewards.

They knew. Federal audits flagged fraud as early as 2016. Rep. Steve Drazkowski warned in 2019 we were “importing poverty.” They did nothing.

That makes them active participants in a premeditated plan to destroy Minnesota from within.

My Plan: Justice, Deportation, Restoration

As your Governor, I will end this betrayal with action, not words:

1. Prosecute the Enablers

• NGO executives, bureaucrats, and politicians go to prison.

• Full forensic audits of every resettlement grant since 2010.

2. Deport the Fraudsters

42 removals already issued in Twin Shield. I’ll scale to thousands.

All illegal/fraudulent arrivals lose aid, subsidies, and residency—deport or get a real job. No exceptions.

3. Claw Back the Money

• Freeze and seize assets of convicted grifters.

• Defund and disband corrupt NGOs.

4. Secure Minnesota

• Veto-proof border security.

• End all state cooperation with federal parole and refugee dumping programs.

This Is Our State. It’s Time to Take It Back.

Minnesotans built this state on hard work, faith, and community—not naiveté. We opened our hearts, and they opened our veins.

No more.

The fraud is exposed. The damage is done. But the fight is just beginning.

Join me. Volunteer. Share this. Demand indictments. Demand deportations. Demand Minnesota for Minnesotans again.

Because if we don’t act now, there won’t be a Minnesota left to save.
