Statement from Phillip C. Parrish, Candidate for Governor of Minnesota 2026
As a retired U.S. Navy Intelligence analyst and a candidate for Governor of Minnesota in 2026, I wholeheartedly commend the Trump administration for its decisive action in addressing the concerns of the American people, particularly those of Minnesotans, through the recent executive order aimed at securing our elections. For too long, the integrity of our electoral process has been undermined by systemic vulnerabilities, as I outlined in my open letter to President Trump, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and FBI Director Kash Patel on March 16, 2025. The administration’s swift response demonstrates a commitment to listening to the voices of citizens who demand transparency, accountability, and fairness in our democratic systems.
Minnesotans have faced persistent issues with voter roll inflation, as evidenced by discrepancies in our Statewide Voter Registration System and the state’s failure to adequately purge ineligible voters—a concern I’ve raised repeatedly, backed by data showing 34,721 cancellations post-2020. The Trump administration’s executive order, signed on March 25, 2025, directly addresses these issues by mandating proof of citizenship on federal voting forms and withholding federal funding from states that fail to secure their elections. This aligns perfectly with my call for real-time voter roll validation and stricter oversight, ensuring that Minnesota can no longer ignore the risks posed by outdated systems, same-day registration, and bureaucratic inertia.
By prioritizing election integrity and cracking down on fraud—issues that mirror the systemic exploitation I exposed in Minnesota’s daycare and Feeding Our Future scams—the Trump administration is taking a bold stand to protect the sacred right of every eligible American to have their vote counted fairly. I am encouraged by this leadership and pledge to work tirelessly as Minnesota’s next governor to implement these federal mandates at the state level, restoring trust in our elections and ensuring that the will of Minnesotans is accurately reflected in every vote. Together, we can make Minnesota a model for election integrity nationwide.
