President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, as the nation approached its third year of bloody civil war. The proclamation declared “that all persons held as slaves” within the rebellious states “are, and henceforward shall be free.”
The importance of Major General Gordon Granger’s June 19, 1865 general order No. 3 was in accordance with the Proclamation from the Executive of the United States, Abraham Lincoln.
All others narratives and pretzel twisting to rewrite history is a lie meant to divide the greatest nation on earth and the good people that fight for the freedom of all.
